no target body found to cut or intersect --error

I am not sure why this is not working for me on this new version, I don't think it would be a new MacBook Pro M1 chip issue either (this is what I'm using now, used to be on an older 2011 Mac and this command would work fine)

I'm trying to do a relief cut using extrude/cut, but F360 is giving me the subject error. I've tried it on a new part starting from scratch just in case it was some sort of file corruption going on. I'm posting a picture in hope that it would make sense. It will allow me to create a new joint body if I choose to do so but it will not let me cut into the profile plane, though it will let me cut into it normally. I can't warp my head around why. The main part has been created from a sketch and then extruded, so I don't see why it would be a problem...was able to do that operation before...

Hi,

Please share the file and name the parts involved (target & tool).

File > export > save as f3d locally  > attach it to the next post.

A "To Object cut" makes no sense.  You are saying "create a tool body that goes right up to the selected object", and then specifying a "cut".  The extrusion does not intersect the object, so there is nothing to cut.  Now, if you add an offset to the "to" side so that the extrusion penetrates inside the body, you will be able to cut.

Thank you Jeff, I had forgotten that I had to indicate the offset. I was expecting to be able to drag the arrow like a traditional cut....late night work can be a bear sometime! lol
