I keep getting this error when trying to mirror features across a midplane.

Please attach your model so the Forum users can see what your issue is.  If you do not know how to attach your Fusion 360 model follow these easy steps. Open the model in Fusion 360, select the File menu, then Export and save as a F3D or F3Z file to your hard drive. Then use the Attachments section, of a forum post, to attach it.

I've just hit this, too.

 

For those coming across the same bug, my workaround is to select the object by clicking in the Browser "Objects" menu.

 

Do NOT click on a face of the object.

 

Although the command will seem to accept clicking on the face as a way to specify the object, you will get this error when you try to apply the pattern / mirror operation. This appears to be a bug in Fusion.

i was trying to pattern an emboss on a vase. i used the timeline to highlight the body was how i worked around it. your post gave me the idea.
