Newbie - Sheetmetal Flange Assistance Request

Good evening Pros,

Newbie here, 1st post.  I have been playing around with Fusion360 off and on for a few months and working through my first challenge.  Fortunately I have been able to find some great online resources, but I just cannot find what I am looking for on my own.

I am working on a part where I have an offset bend, that needs to be 0.5" and I need to have the edges of the part flanged, to essentially make a channel to add strength for the application.  The 2 main challenges that I am having are:

  • On the side flange where the offset is, I cannot figure out how to make them close enough so that when bent I can weld them to make it complete flange down the length.  In the attached screenshot and file you will see that I made this different on 2 sides.  One side I mitered it, but the gap still seems large.  On the other side I did not miter it and there is an overlap, but the side opposite the overlap is large.
  • On the end piece that is bent up, I want to add a flange on each side so that I can weld the flange edge to the main body to strengthen it.

Any help provided is greatly appreciated.  I welcome and constructive criticism on how to make the work flow better.  I couldn't figure out how to make the 4 holes patterned in a line with the correct spacing, so I know I have some added steps you all may have been able to simplify.
