Newbie has "lost" sketch

I have been building up an enclosure for electronics PCB and nitice I need to move the supports for the Motor to the right. (See attached image). The problem is that I can select extruded parts of but cannpot locate the sketch that created it. I started this as a rectangle on the bottom of the box that was extruded to a solid block then had parts extruded out of it.

If I can find the original sketch then I can simply move it 1mm right.

Right click on the extrude in timeline. If you see Edit Profile Sketch you have your answer:

sketch.png

If you don't see that option probably you have extruded directly from a face and there is no sketch to edit, and you'll have to use another method (e.g. Modify > Press Pull):

By the way, 3 sketches in "Base (1)" are hidden. Aren't you looking for one of them?

Thank you

I found the sketch and it was way up under the main component and not in the "Base" here I thought I created it.

I can grab the ractangles representing the extrusion but cannot move them a set amount, only freehand. In the original I did a parallel align to the position along the edge I wanted it. Can that position be changed somehow or deleted and done again?

If I try to align to a new position I get an error "Failed to solve, please try revising dimensions or constraints"

You are not following Rule 1.

You have blue lines in that / those sketches.

Depending on what's there, and what you want to do, it should be as simple as edit the dimension value, (in fully defined sketches).

Might help....

Hi,

With active sketch, you must first project the main body into the sketch. To do this, call up the corresponding menu with the shortcut P and select the body (option Body) or the option Elements and confirm the selection. Then you can orientate the sketch by the magenta lines with conditions and/or dimensions.

Looks like I need quite a few fundamentals sorted.
Is there a video training course that will cover proper dimansioning and constraining sketches and also how to do projections. I would like to do things likje project component bodies from PCB to say the lid or edge for cutouts and supports etc.

Hi,

Please share the file.

File > export > save as f3d on local drive  > attach it to the next post.
