Hi

Since the new update my 3D connexion mouse won't work with Fusion (still works with Inventor). I've restarted Fusion, removed and inserted the mose again etc. and still no luck. Currently using Windows 10.

Use the Orbit one time - then it should work.

Same behaviour here, 3D mouse no longer working after update today. Is there any way to roll back Fusion 360 updates?

TheCADWhisperer: Using orbit has no effect.

What 3DConnexion driver are you running?

After the Update of Fusion this morning - at first my Space Navigator would not work.

I did Orbit with the mouse and then it worked fine.

I was going to create a video, but then even after rebooting my computer I could not get it to not work like after the Update was completed.

10.4.3

Latest version that supports my mouse and Win10 64bit.

Mouse works fine in other programs, and worked fine in Fusion 360 up until an hour ago

Nvidea Quadro drivers are up to date, restarted several times, checked for win updates...no change

As a last measure I've reinstalled the driver and it's worked, although I'm not sure why as I was using the latest. Anyhow, problem solved. Thanks.

Sorry, that didn't work...

Tried so far:

1. Uninstall Fusion 360

2. Reboot

3. Uninstall 3D Mouse driver and software

4. Reboot

5. Install Fusion 360

6. Reboot

7. Install 3D Mouse driver and software

8. Reboot

9. Calibrate 3D mouse

All to no avail, can only move in one direction extremely slowly and in large steps.

Any ideas / help greatly appreciated.

Just tried the 3D mouse on a second machine with Fusion 360 installed. Worked, update ran, mouse no longer works...

Well done... Autodesk!

An idea just occurred to me of something you might try.

I was talking to one of the 3DConnexion developers at a conference several years ago.

He tipped me off that unplugging connector (this is for Space Navigator, not sure about any other models) and then while holding both side buttons in plug it back in while keep holding for 5 seconds.  This resets something in the Navigator itself.

I have about 50 of these things and this tip helped me get a couple of troublesome units working again.

Edit:  I just tried on another machine and could not get it to work except when in an Active Sketch.  When I Finished Sketch it would no longer work...

Edit 2:  In my previous test I did not restart Fusion.  Ran another test without Fusion running.  Plugged in while holding the two buttons for 5 full seconds.  Started Fusion.  It is now working fine on this computer as well.

Edit 3: Tried on a 3rd machine and it worked fine without any additional steps.

Thanks, mine is a USB Space Explorer, so it doesn't have the side buttons as such. Any ideas what they may translate to on this model?

3d mouse snip.PNG

Not sure if this is relevant....but when it was working the text circled above was "Fusion 360" and changed depending upon which window was currently active. Now when the Fusion 360 window is active the  text is "Autocad Component".

Mine says Fusion 360...

BTW, rather than use Snipping Tool you can use the Windows command Shift Win S to grab screen captures.

Same problem here, older space explorer (2007) that doesn't work with the latest drivers doesn't work anymore, works fine in other software (solidworks, freecad, blender etc.)
Re-installed fusion, re-installed 3D mouse drivers (10.4.10 which is the latest version which will work with this 3D mouse). Tried clicking the orbit symbol as suggested also makes no difference, anything else I can try? I really don't want to buy a new one just because of a fusion update, I know it's old but it's still as good as new these things are build really solid and a bit afraid that newer ones will be worse like most newer things.

Just got mine working again with some excellent support from the kind folks at 3Dconnexion. Just asked them if they are happy for me to post the solution over here...

The solution to my problem was to update the driver to the most recent extended support driver. Available from this link https://download.3dconnexion.com/drivers/3DxWare64_v10-6-4_r3119.exe

Might be worth contacting 3Dconnexion support...I found them extremely helpful, even for a product out of extended support.
