I can't seem to find the method to insert my new title block in existing drawings.

Can someone support me in this?

At this time, I do not believe there is a method for exchanging a title block with another one from outside the template.  If the title block was not created in the current template, it will not be available.

Thank you for your reply.

So if I want to insert my newly made title block into existing drawings / templates, I have to remake either the drawing/template or remake the title block?
This seems like a gap in the functionality. I'll try adding it to the idea station then.

Someone's already put this idea on the ideastation already.

@Anonymous In your existing drawing were you using a tile block inserted from a DWG?

Just been experimenting a bit and might  have a couple of workarounds.

First is if you imported a DWG as a title block. The tile block should have a name if you look from the icons at the bottom of the screen.

Create a new template and name the tile block the same as the existing drawing, I'd guess you probably can't use the default ANSI_TITLEBLOCK. Now right click one of the sheets bottom of the screen and select Add Sheet, from the add sheet dialog where it says From you can select your new template. When the new sheet is added the new title block will overwrite the old and all sheets in the drawing using the tile block will update.

If you just need to add a title block to an existing drawing follow a similar workflow and import your new template as above then with the existing sheet active just select the new title block from the toolbar at the bottom of the screen.

Note all sheets have to be the same standard and use the same units.

You are correct!

Adding a sheet (not quick add, but right click on a sheet > add) with my template gave me the new title block on the existing sheets as well!

You don't need to do something with the names. It just gets added to the other sheets as an option.

It does loose the attribute information. That is a pity, but manageable

Thanks!

@Anonymous An advantage if you match the name of the existing title block is if you have several sheets in the drawing they all update just by importing. I think if you match all the attribute names you shouldn't lose anything, mine updated OK without losing anything but I didn't have meny in the template.
