Never selected this in the browser, won't go away now

Never actually selected the translucent Manual NC. Took hitting the escape key 10 times to stop it from following my cursor. Now it's just stuck like that.

Does it persists when going back to Design workspace? What if you save and close the file, is it still there upon reopen?

Goes away after closing/reopening file. Doesn't go away if switching to the Design workspace and back.
