Need help uploading .ipt files

I run F1 in schools and another member of staff uses inventor. He sends me .IPT files to be uploaded into my fusion account where I can use the CAM software for tool pathing. For some reason the .ipt file when I try to upload it will not complete and finish its upload (the icon just spins forever). I have also tried an IGS file, an STL file and lastly an STP file none of which seem to upload to my fusion account. I have been told by my ICT team that I have the most up-to-date version of fusion. i have also tried to use the Fusion section within Inventor to try and transfer the file across but cant seem to export it as the correct file for fusion 360 . What can I do next?

Please attach a sample IPT file you are having issues with.

If you have a Subscription License or Educational License to Fusion, all you have to do to open an IPT file is to open the Data Panel, select your folder and then use the Upload icon at the top to add the IPT to your folder.  The F3D file is attached.

If my Forum post solved your question, please select the "Accept Solution" icon to do three things. First it allows others to find a solution to a similar question, two, it closes the Forum post and last, it acknowledges that you accept the solution given. If you need further help, please ask. If you like to read why "Accept Solutions are important, take a look at this webpage.

hi john,

Thanks for your  help in my situation, i have tried the data panel route, and it won't work, I've also tried to open the file you attached to your last reply but it still seems to be blocked by an "update Fusion 360" message. i have my ICT team working on trying to find the update.

Do we know which version fusion is currently on? and how i can check which one I'm on?, unfortunately if this means opening the administrator on the my computer i don't have access to it.

thanks again

Do you by any chance have most up to date "update installation file" i can send over to my ICT department. Might be able to get Fusion 360 updated that way?

You can download it yourself for your Autodesk Account.  You can find the address on the Internet.
