Need Help Modifying an STL File Downloaded from Thingiverse: Just Need To Extrude/Extend a Section Of The Model

Hi everyone,

I'm fairly new to the Fusion 360 and the 3D printing world so please be easy if this is something simple haha. Anyway, I downloaded a laser mount off of Thingiverse for my Ender 3 V2 but the heads on the M3 mounting screws I bought from Home Depot yesterday are too thick for the mount I'm trying to use.

All I'm trying to do here is make the spacing a tad bit thicker so that the other piece of the 3D printed mount can slide onto it without any obstruction from the screw.

I've attached a photo for reference as well as the STL files that need editing. I've gone as far as converting the part that needs modifying into a BRep but can't seem to select and extrude the section that I need. I'm a bit frustrated having spent 1-2 hours on this so far today ahhh.

Thanks in advance!

I recommend that you remodel it from scratch as a native Fusion file.

This will be a nice easy part that only takes a few minutes.

That sounds like a lot of work haha. Is there not an easier way of doing this maybe even outside of Fusion 360?

I can try to remodel it but I'm still very new to Fusion 360 so it'll probably take me many hours. Is there maybe a way I could trace the current STL file to produce sketches from?

Thanks!
