Need help adding a note to a 2D drawing

Hi All,

I can't seem to figure out how to add a note to my 2D drawing that contains sketches.  I can add a note (with a leader) to the parts of the drawing that aren't part of the sketches.

Why won't Fusion allow notes on sketches?  If I edit a sketch there is no option to add a note with a leader.

Thanks,

Richard

You need to clarify your question with some screen captures and more description.  According to what I am reading, I do not see the same problems.

I don't know if a screen capture will give you any additional information.

What I'm trying to do is add a note (with a leader) to my 2D drawing that includes a sketch.  Fusion will not allow me to anchor a note to the sketch.  It will allow me to insert text but not a note with a leader.

I've managed to find a work-around:  I place the note onto a part of the 2D drawing and then I can move it and place it onto the sketch component.  Just is very frustrating that the program is capable of adding a note to one form of the drawing but not the other.  Makes zero sense to me.  I'd love to be in a meeting with the developers and hear their reasoning why it works only "sometimes".  There's no logically reason that there should be any limit on where you can place a note with a leader.

You can see this is not an issue for me.  To get to the bottom of your problem, a Screencast or screen capture showing the model you are using to create the drawing and the actual drawing would probably help.  Rather than judge the application, please direct your energy to providing clues that will help solve your "individual" issue.

I made a screencast but I'm not sure where it got uploaded. I think this is the link: https://autode.sk/3HHJ9LJ

You said, in your original post, you had issues with sketches in your 2D drawing.  I asked for a screen capture to see what you were talking about, but you said it would not matter.  Well, it does, you Screencast showed you were using the 2D drawing sketch command instead of creating model sketches and making them visible in the drawing.  The attached Screencast will show the tools Fusion 360 supplies for adding a leader text callout to a 2D drawing sketch.
