Navigation Cube Flipping When It Shouldn't

Lets say i am looking at the lower front of the navigation cube.  Then i click on the upper front of the navigation cube.  Normally it would just change the angle, as it should.  Today, it is flipping the component over, which it should not do.

I cannot reproduce the issue with your file.

I suspect that I do not really understand the issue.

Can you create a >>Screencast Recording<< of the behavior?

Here is a sequence of screenshots.  The red arrow points to what i clicked on.  That is the only thing i did from start to finish.

Hello @rhetths

I too couldn't reproduce this issue on my computer.

So at first, I would like to ask you to restore default properties to your Fusion 360 to default properties.

Please follow this article: How to reset to the default display in Fusion 360

If this doesn't solve your problem, please briefly describe what impact on your work this brings and how it looks on your side.

Restoring all of my preferences back to default would be a big problem!  It would be hours of work to get them back where they were.  Surely you can identify what setting controls this, if there is a setting?

Obviously its also a headache to have things flipping when they shouldn't, i have started using two clicks to achieve the viewing goal that one click previously and ought to achieve.

this is standard view cube behavior.  When you click on part of the view cube, you are asking to look at the model from that point of view, which implies the "flip" that you are talking about.  There is no setting that I know of that will change this.

I am thinking that it is flipping because it is the top.  It is keeping the top at the top in this instance.  Fusion doing it this way means the behaviour is different to when this operation is undertaken on a side view.

I previously typically chose a vertical axis upon which to start my sketching and components, and this tended to result in me using the view cube in a similar way to this but around the side views, where it doesn't flip.  Whereas nowadays i tend to start sketching on the top plane which makes more sense for my components, and results in a lot more movements of the nature indicated by this thread.

I think there is no question the software of the viewcube rotation has an error.
