I am new to fusion 360 and I was able to make a rib on one part I designed.  However, I cannot duplicate my efforts and I do not understand why.  Here is my model.  https://a360.co/2LRCgzS

Can someone please give me some direction.

Thanking you in advance

The only thing wrong with your sketch is it is in the wrong sketch plane for a rib going in the direction you desire.  The sketch must be parallel to the rib direction.  The rib, with your sketch, does not have any boundary face to hit.  Take a look at the Screencast and if it is unclear, get back with me.

Good morning John.

I'm sorry for my late reply.  I just got back here to this.  I seem to have trouble sometimes with the wrong plane and I do not understand how to fix this.  Is there a tutorial to help me?  I have tried several times to get the correct plane and sometimes I cannot

Thank you for your easy to understand answer.

Here is a rule to follow and it will become second nature to you, a profile sketch is placed on a plane parallel to the desired feature face and perpendicular to the feature development direction.  In the case of your rib, the rib face is the feature face so the plane and the sketch are parallel to it.  The rib develops, it’s thickness, along a path perpendicular to the profile, line is this case, and the sketch plane.  Think about this the next time you do an extrusion, sweep, loft or revolve.

I apologize, I used the term Rib in place of the Fusion 360 command name Web.  I used Autodesk Inventor so many years where the command name is Rib, it is hard to change.
