So my school has an Alien ware laptop that has a RYZEN AMD 9 processor and when I try to open fusion360 the computer will blackout then fusion would close or if it does load then randomly the laptop will freeze the curser won’t move then a couple minutes later the computer will blue screen but will have 5 separate blue screens showing all at the same time and the bottom half of the screen will be black while its blue screening, but all the other alien ware laptops my school has that have intel processors they will run fusion 360 like normal. I was wondering if the RYZEN AMD 9 processor is why the computer keeps blue screening.

@James_S_ The symptoms you are calling out sounds more like graphics.

1. Can you please check if you have he latest drivers and if you do can you uninstall and install again from the manufacturers site?

2. Also, check o see if you have any pending windows update.

@James_S_ Also let us know what version of Fusion you have installed on this machine.

there’s the link to the exact computer that is having the problem.

It should be the latest release of fusion where we had just downloaded it to the computer. I had thought the same thing of it not being the latest release so I deleted it from the computer and then redownloaded it. Do you think it could be what the school system has put onto the computer that is blocking fusion from running. Because the school systems puts blockers onto every electronic that is owned and maintained by the school system so that students can only use school issued email accounts and stuff like that.

Thanks,

James S.

@James_S_ To get some clarity,

1. The compute you shared is a school owned computer?
2. Do you install Fusion or does the school install Fusion for you?
3. IF you go into add/remove program what version of Fusion do you see installed
4. Are you the only one having this issue or every other student is having this problem?
5. Did you check the graphics drivers or is that something only the school can check?

1. yes the laptops are owned and managed by the school system.

2. I personally installed fusion to this computer

3. I have not looked at what version of fusion is on the computer but I had downloaded it Wednesday March 6th I will look when I can have access to the laptops tomorrow.

4. There are only two laptops having this issue they have Ryzen processors and the rest have Intel processors that’s the only difference between the two laptops that are having this issue and the rest that are running fusion just fine.

5. I’m pretty sure I do not have access to check what graphics drives is on the laptops.

@James_S_ From the symptoms it is likely graphics and you will need the support of your IT unfortunately in this case to have them look at the graphics to update (else asking your school for an another laptop might be another solution if that is a possibility). If there an IT contact that we can interact with that can test things for us that would help too.
