Mouse zooming bug in new version V.2.0.8111 | April 13, 2020

In the new version just installed, V.2.0.8111 | April 13, 2020, it no longer allows me to zoom the display in/out with the middle mouse wheel (Win 10 PC) when in the middle of an operation like the Move command, creating a primitive like box or cylinder, or while in sketch mode and drawing a line/circle/etc. This worked fine before the update, now it ignores the mouse wheel in all those situations. It still will zoom if the zoom button at the bottom of the display is clicked, but then I need to exit that mode and go back to the operation, very clumsy.

Check your preferences and see if the Fusion 360 update possibly changed your Pan, Zoom, Orbit shortcuts setting.

Please check this setting on your computer. Allow inactive window scrolling.

We now think this is a bug. The mouse setting should not be required for mouse wheel zoom to work for you. Please let us know what you find. The goal is to fix this soon, so the workaround is only temporary.

Okay, tried those things. The inactive-window workaround DOES make it work, though I have never had that on in the past, and dont really want it to be since it would change behavior in other programs. But, it does fix that issue. I noticed that in this release, when doing an operation like creating a box, the way the windows go active/inactive is different than it used to be, or at least now I am noticing it!

Thanks for looking into this one, can run any other tests you would like me to.

Chris

I don't have that option under mouse settings.

Took me a while to find it first time - on Windows 10 go to Start/Settings, then Devices, then down the left side click on Mouse, then it showed up. Dont know why MS puts so many varations of those controls in so many places....

I'm on Win 8.1--- it doesn't have that option.

The wonderful forum software deleted all my text when I added the screencast! How much do the forum software developers pay Autodesk to test their software?

@Phil.E  Is that option available on Win8.1

Here's a screenshot of what I see, clicking the title bar get focus back to Fusion. Seem to remember this bug happened before a few years ago. Any idea when it'll get fixed? I held off updating until today, wish I'd held off longer now!😣

Here's the screencast as the useless forum software will not let me have text and a screencast in the last post.

@HughesTooling  This did happen a year ago and it is related to that event. We were able to work around it for Win 7/8 last year, and that workaround just expired, so to speak. Win 10 is not affected. The scroll inactive windows setting is on by default for Windows 10.

That leaves win 7/8. Right now, the best remedy is an app like this one to bridge the gap while we sort this out.

Yes this worked for me! But it would be ideal to not have to change settings. lets just keep things working and stable!

Just to bring this one up again, it is still there in the new May release. The release notes mention a different mouse wheel bug that was fixed, still hoping this one (which is a fairly new bug) can get fixed soon as well.

Still there in the latest release - this bug was created by some change in fusion recently, should not be that hard to find. Yes, the workaround change to the system settings works, but it messes up every other application, so we have to keep changing the setting back and forth when going to use Fusion.

@Phil.E  Just a heads up. Seems like the AlwaysMouseWheel program might be causing problems in the 2d drawing workspace. See screencast below. So the question is, is Fusion getting a fix so we don't need to use the AlwaysMouseWheel program?

Thanks Mark

When will this problem be solved? I use Fusion 360 every day. You try to work without middle mouse button and you will see the problem we are facing.
