mouse wheel disabling while editing

Hello. Can you please inform me about why mouse wheel gets to be disabled while editing (i.e. putting down lines or anything) ? I mean is this a program deficiency or is it intended, if so , why?

Hi,

It is certainly not intended behavior for Fusion.

There could be one of two things going on. First check your preferences, for this solution:

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-360-support/while-performing-an-operation-mouse-wheel-will-not...

If that doesn't fix it, try the solutions mentioned in message 84-85 of this post.

Let me know if any of these solutions work for you.

Thanks,

No. Both solutions neither work. I installed razer synapse latest version (i am using razer naga 2009) and changed two of the side buttons to mouse scroll up and down, still doesn't work in edit mode. It seems that fusion360 doesn't register mouse wheel input itself. May be related to drivers but i don't see a possible fix to alter mouse wheel bitmap in drivers, at least not to my knowledge.

i mean maybe a virtual input layer may be embed to accept every input possible to then filter them out to be registered in program (may introduce input lag but it's engineering so...) but that to be change the workflow of program altogether.

Are you running Win 7 or 8?

Thanks. Then the solution mentioned in post 84-85 here is your only workaround at this point. There are 3rd party solutions that enable mouse scrolling in Win 7-8 during active command.

Hi @Anonymous, could you please give me a few technical details about remapping with Synapse?

  • Are you are remapping mouse wheel up/down to mouse 4/5 near the front-left of the mouse, or one of the 12 macro buttons?
  • Is this a Fusion 360-specific profile, or do you use this scroll mapping for the entire OS?
  • What functions are assigned to the scroll wheel, and do they work as expected in Fusion?

@lance_anthony Hello.

I tried both 4/5 on front/end and 11/12 on the side. still no response. everything works fine except the edit mode.

I did put it up on an entire OS setup.

On your last question, i didn't put down any macro or altered any bitmap on my device before, and i specifically installed razer synapse to solve this problem, it didn't work.

"Always mouse-wheel" software hit the spot, edit mode works just fine with it.

I'm starting to learn bits of coding, i may be wrong but this program seems to have multiple languages contradict each other.

Thanks for the replies.
