Mouse left button Drag not working for vertical or horizontal Move/Extrude

After one of the Fusion updates about a week ago, the vertical or horizontal mouse click and drag for actions like Body Move/Copy or Extrude has stopped working - but only for vertical and horizontal movements.  The little hand mouse pointer correctly forms a fist when holding the left button down, but while the fist visibly moves back an forth while moving the mouse, no changes happen to the actual Body being acted on.  Weirdly the body "free" drag works (by using the little square in the middle of the Move to drag in any direction) and dragging the body degree movements works fine.  I can manually type in the distance to move and that works fine.

I've checked it with a MS mouse and Logitec as well as the Laptop touchpad.  No luck with any setting changes and the drag works for all other applications that I have.

Any ideas?

Can you post a screencast of what you are seeing?  We've not heard any reports of any similar problems in a general sense.  The issue may be model-specific, so if you can also share your model here, it would help.  Thanks

Thanks for the reply - very much appreciated.  The capture software I'm using isn't showing the closed fist when holding the left mouse button down - but it was certainly there.  As you can see the free movement is fine as is the degree drag movement, just not vertical or horizontal.

I have been using Fusion on this laptop with no issues for 18mths or more, this started happening a few days ago after an update.

I am using a Lenova Yoga 510-141SK 8GB Pentium 2.1Ghz  64Bit Win10 Home Ver 1803.  Not a great spec machine but Fusion has been working really well for me.

I did also make a Screencast-O-Matic video.  The "Insert Screencast" wont accept this URL - but you can paste the following into a browser, if the MP4 attached doesnt work

very strange, indeed.  Has anyone else out there in Fusion-land seen anything like this?  I tried it on my laptop, and everything seems to work OK.  Thanks for trying different input devices, that would have been my first suggestion, as well.  At the risk of sounding like a lame IT department, have you tried exiting Fusion and restarting?  How about (cringe) rebooting the computer?  I only suggest those approaches because I can't explain the behavior I can clearly see in the video, and can't reproduce it myself:

Thanks for the reply and yes I have restarted/rebooted a few times since this first appeared.  I haven't noticed any other new or strange issues - and I can still drag bodies back and forth in the bodies list browser, so mouse drag is working in a number of areas

Hi Jeff,

Just an update to the mouse drag issue.

I tried a number of things including updating Win 10 to the latest but this didn't help. Put in a wired mouse - but again no change.  I was starting to get desperate as I'm starting to realize just how often I use the mouse drag, and started trying any setting I could think of in Fusion.

Eventually I started moving in and out of the the workspaces (Model, Sheetmetal etc).  No workspace seemed to make a difference until I went into the Manufacture workspace.  While I couldn't (or I just don't know how) extract anything in this workspace, when I went back to the Model workspace afterwards and then tried again - everything worked! Yay!

I'm guessing I must have somehow clicked or did something odd that put it in some weird mode, and there must be a settings reset in the Manufacture workspace (just guessing here)

So I'm working again!

Thanks for your quick responses - very much appreciated.

Cheers,

Mike Cannard

Am having the same problem. I can extrude only by typing the numbers in. If i try to extrude with the trackpad or a mouse, nothing.

Ive actually found that its not selecting the drag arrow because its clicking on the screen about half a centimeter below where the pointer is. So if i click just above the arrow it will select it.

This has started doing the same thing yesterday only typing in makes the extrude or other command work. Was this ever figured out?

It does still work, its just that the mouse becomes uncalibrated with the software. I.e. its not where you think the pointer is. Its a few mm off. Play around and you will find it. A reset of the software usually fixes it if you cant be bothered with the misaligned pointer.

Hi. I met same issue and reach to this site, but now I can solve.

In my case, 'Linear Increments' was Zero. But I cannot set zero into the value now. I do not know why this value can be set as zero. (See attached)

After set some value, arrow can drag.

Hope someone's help.
