Model aircraft skin details

Hi everyone,

I am looking for a way to detail an aircraft model I am working on right now. I want to create panel detail (Panel lines and rivet recess lines...) on the surfaces of the plane. See the linked photo below to get the idea.

Any advice?

So I am clear, you want to add that detail to a Fusion model, or the one in your workshop?

what type of panel line, overlap, channel or groove?

what type of rivet, countersink flush, or rounded?

Hey, thanks for answering so fast.

Yes, I want to add those details on the fusion model. It will save me some work on the actual printed model. The thing is, I don't know witch tool to use in order to reach that goal.

I thought about using groove tool, but it seems to be a very heavy and long work for the amount of details. The idea is to get those lines very subtle in order to get realism form the model.

Do some sample testing on the printer, see what size the Slicer will actually do, small details are usually dropped, so you need to know what size the Slicer will print.

In Fusion lots a work, I don’t know if other software will make things easy.

Panel Lines, - Draw a sketch with them as a centre line, and Project to Surface, and make the groove with Pipe > Cut, or maybe, (not tried it)

use the sketch to Split face, then Fillet.

Rivets, - make one, then Pattern the rows.

Might help....
