Missing GD&T tools -- unequal tolerance zone

Hi,

First, my apologies if this is not being posted in the correct place.

I have noticed there is no ability to apply the circled "U" symbol within GD&T frames that specifies an unequally disposed tolerance zone under a profile constraint is missing. This modifier is provided for by ASME Y14.5-2018 as well as 2009, by my understanding. Have I missed this feature somewhere, our could it be that the drawing tools need to be updated?

Thanks for posting. Fusion is using ASME Y14.5-1994. Updating to the latest ASME standard is on our roadmap, but I don't know when it can be implemented.

Are you able to work around it?

Thanks for the response -- that helps explain the issue

I wasn't aware that the drawing tools were working of the 1994 standard. My personal issue is resolved -- I'm just manually typing in "(U)" for the time being. Is there a timeline for when the software will be working of the 2018 standard? Can you also say which version of the ISO GD&T standards are being used if I select "ISO" through the preferences menu? If you refer me to any roadmaps that show Fusion 360 update plans particularly related to drawing tools and GD&T that would be great -- not sure where I can find those.

I recently had to locate this symbol in Autocad Mechanical for an assignment... in your feature control frame window you have the tool to insert symbols, MMC, LMC, etc, which is lacking the unequally disposed symbol. You look at the bottom of your symbols window there will be a bar that says @Anonymous symbols... which leads you to the character map where you can search through the different fonts. I don't know if it's standard, but the default font in my version is Arial, don't bother searching it because it ain't there. Click the drop down menu and hit the up arrow to scroll up on the list, just two/three places up you will find 2 fonts called AMGDT_IV25 and AMGDT_IV50 that both contain the encircled U unequally disposed symbol.

If you read what I posted as a reply to the guy who answered you I left out the fact that in the fonts AMGDT_IV25 and AMGDT_IV50 you can select the unequally disposed, the encircled U, symbol but I can't get it to just insert it for me, I had to copy and paste it into my FCF box... hope this helps!

As @Phil.E mentions, we have an update to ASME Y14.5 on the roadmap, but it will be quite some time before this is implemented.

The good news, is that you can use Unicode characters practically anywhere in Fusion drawings where we use text, so you can add in the “Unequally disposed profile” Ⓤ, by typing in \U+24CA
