Middle Mouse Button Neither Working for Pan Nor Orbit

As the title says, my middle mouse button stopped working properly sometime this week (Monday, I think). This is super annoying! I can neither pan nor orbit with my mouse. Zoom, however, works fine. My setup is below.

I attempted to catch the behavior with a Screencast. Interestingly, Fusion does not seem to register that the middle mouse button is being pressed.

-MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015)

OSX 10.13.5

2.5 GHz Intel Core i7

16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

AMD Radeon R9 M370X 2048 MB

Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB

-External Acer G276HL Monitor (connected via Mini DisplayPort)

-3DConnexion SpaceNavigator USB

-Logitech M570 Trackball

-Logitech K750 Keyboard

I have tried with dual monitors, without dual monitors, with my Spacemouse, without my Spacemouse, restarting Fusion, changing orbit/pan settings in Fusion, restarting my computer...nothing works. Help please!

Maybe you mentioned this in your video and I missed it.

Hi,

Have you tried a new battery in your M570? Also, if you have a wired mouse, it would be helpful to try a different device just to eliminate that as a variable.

Sorry for the trouble, please let me know how it goes.

@neljoshua That sounds like a different problem, but my advice would be the same if applicable. You might consider posting this as a stand alone post in the Support forum so it gets proper attention.

Thanks,

@TheCADWhisperer, thanks for the tip. I have tried changing settings. Unfortunately nothing changed.

@Phil.E, I do not think the battery is the problem. My mouse battery is at 95%. I did try my colleague's wired mouse and that worked just fine.

I have seen other posts about this same issue and it seems that it has just gone away for some. That is my hope; my interaction with Fusion is much slower without pan and orbit easily accessible.

Josh,

Does your M570 MMB exhibit any problems in web pages or other apps?

Thanks,

@Phil.E,

Well, that is something. I went to this page to test my mouse (a good resource for those in doubt of their mouse's operation). The middle click did not register for the first 10 or so clicks but then it started working. It seems to work fine in Fusion now.

Thanks for the help!

Thank you for this fix.  This was driving me crazy.  After visiting the site I realized the middle button was not registering. Found out the profile was changed it was mapped to a 5 key.  Thank you so much.  I worked on everything else but Fusion when the mouse profile changed.  Did not realize it had created a program for Fusion and another for games, etc.  Thank you again, this saved my sanity lol.

I was having the same problem. My middle button used to work and just stopped. After using the test webpage and finding out the middle button wasn't registering, I decided to reset my KVM where my unifying receiver (Logitech) is plugged in. That did the trick for me.
