Messed up patches due to parameter change

I have modelled some furniture in Fusion 360 and inserted the file into a CAM setup file with stock set up for laying out and programming for SHOPBOT CNC.

I have tried both using nester and manual using 'align' tools to lay all the pieces flat.

As I'm going I may come across something that needs adjusting in the design - eg a dogbone missing. I do this adjustment in my original file and save.

When I go my layout file and hit 'get all latest' for the updated linked data, the layout gets all messed up and I have to start again!

Is there a solution to this? it seems every time I change a parameter or a feature I have to set up the layout and nest all over again which is very time-consuming - I thought the whole idea behind CAD/CAM was that everything was linked so could be updated easily.

It seems to be an issue with JOINTS. I've tried many things to fix but no joy.

Also - when I close my layout file and reopen - previously supressed joints seem to now be unsupressed.

I'm using Mac book air
