Meshmixer crashing after trying to make a pattern and create dual edges

I am trying to create and dual edges pattern on a wrist splint model. Mesh mixer is crashing once I press on dual edges. The file I am using is an imported stl and before I attempt to make the pattern I am reducing the mess to 88%.
