Meshing error, surface meshing, face interior

Hi, I am trying to run a static stress simulation on a component group, when trying to run the simulation I keep getting meshing errors on a face element but cannot find any problems when validating or looking for intersections. The face is relitivly large and modifying the mesh size doesn't seem to have any effect. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated, Thanks

Hi @CSmith36BPH9T,

We appreciate you attaching the f3d. The model has a geometry problem that can be repaired manually in the Simplify workspace.

The mesh error label points to the problematic face:

I unstitched the neighboring face, which exposed an overlapping faces problem:

Re-stitching heals the face overlap:

The model can now solve successfully:

Initially, I unstitched the face with the mesh error label. Instead of a face overlap, there was a gap left between the faces. After re-stitching, it appeared that the solid was 'healed' but the mesh still failed. Unstitching / re-stitching the neighboring face somehow fixed the underlying problem.

The modified model is attached.
