MATERIAL CHOICES

Anonymous
Not applicable

I am using a free hobby license.  When I first started with FUSION 360 several years ago I had a great selection of materials to designate to parts and bodies.  I did not work on the system for a few months and when I started up again in the fall of 2020 I now only have listings of material that say PrismMaterial-xxx  instead of any name that associates with the material.  When I randomly pick one of these "materials" and drill down into its advance specifications the base material data is still there, but the name confusion almost makes the "material function " impossible to use.

What the heck is going on?

thanks in advance for any and all help folks.

Nothing has changed in this area. Can you give a screenshot of what you are seeing? (sorry it's not clear from the description)

You will note that the materials are all named PrismMaterial-xxx.

This is a new issue.  They used to have the titles of the material ....... ie. Copper, Aluminum, etc.

I am wondering what and why this is the case

This is not by design. At this time you might try re-installing Fusion to re-make the library. Let me know if that helps.

A reinstall fixed it.   Many thanks for your help.
