making a locking mechanism to a box lid

hi

Can somebody help me in doing a locking mechanism as in the video below to my box in the attached project?

By the way how do we call that mechanism that locks the lid? is it a latch? is there a specific name? a snap fit?

i just found the problem and fixed it. Can you just help me to move the lock system to the left a little? and show it in a video if possible? I printed the box and saw that i had to change some dimesions so i edited some of them and added the latest version as attachment. I just need to move the lock now. Thank you

@davebYYPCU did a nice job by putting your latch on the midplane of the box.  You say you want it a little to the left but did not say how much or for that matter, you did not say which side of the box is left.  So what I did was transfer the sketch, used to create the latch, to a editable construction plane you can move anywhere you desire.  Edit the construction plane shown by the red arrow.  Model is attached but you should do it yourself for understanding.

Oh, John, too hard.

Just change the Extrude to 2 sides.

Dave, I can see your way is very easy but I was thinking down the road as to the benefit of doing it in a way that would give a better "working knowledge" of the application as well as accomplish the immediate goal.

As I see it we are probably both wrong and should use the origin plane, and use the Extrude options for placement.

(Something JD would do).
