Long Sloped Pocket with Small Vbit

Hey,

I'm looking for a way to cut a bigger chamfer/engrave using a smaller Vbit. Currently, I've got 45 and 30 degrees, .25" shaft Vbit.

I'm wanting a tool path that will walk down the slope with multiple step downs, and stepovers. I've done a fair bit of forum and youtube searching, but haven't stumbled upon that magic answer.

This guy lists several questions, but he nails my issue with his point, "Question 4: how to use a smaller V-bit? Is there something like a step-down which goes down the slope? Manually creating multiple passes at different intersections is very tedious." (https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-360-manufacture/engraving-with-pocket-2-different-chamfers/m-p...)

I'm tempted to list out all the various things I've tried, but usually, no one reads all that. Instead they usually just post suggestions of what I've already tried. SO...

... in case someone does read this, I did actually download the example solution file and dissect that. However, it looks like the "solution" there was really just a BIG vbit. Still no direct answer to how to do a long slope engrave with a small vbit.

This seems so simple like I'm just missing a decimal.....Or, the real solution is to get a 2" diameter vbit.

I've read all your post, and the one you referenced 🙂

Would you be able to share a sample file so I can try a few different ideas?

File > Export > Save to local folder, return to thread and attach the .f3d file in your reply
