Loft Fails: failed to boolean

Hi everyone,

I've only been using Fusion 360 for a couple of weeks now and have come across some problems.  I'm sure its a new user issue but I have browsed a lot for help on this forum and elsewhere to no avail.

I have body that I am trying to loft a profile within to cut a section out of it.  Every way I try this it doesn't work.  I've tried patching the projected profile and it still doesn't like me.

Please see the attached file.  I am trying to loft the inner rectangular sketch to the top patched body.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Oliver

I think I have found a way around it by avoiding lofting to a surface with a bend in it.  Apparently the patch doesn't help here.  I'd still be keen to learn of there is a better and easier way to do this.

Fail to boolean, is the term for not a distinctive cut line.

You can make a solid loft but it will not boolean with the Combine tool either.

The coincident faces are just too similar for Fusion to find a clear cut.

The top corners have an unusual shape, but you may already know that.

Body 3 is red and trying to be in the same place as the yellow cutter.

Might help.....

Thank you.  I spent a couple od days trying to work out how to solve for this but it seems like its just too close and I need a much more divergent strategy to get it work.
