Location of F360 icons?

I'm planning on using the Elgato Stream Deck in conjunction with Fusion 360 to speed up my workflow, and although it's pretty easy to get  the Stream Deck button hierarchy set up, it would really be nice if I could use the Fusion 360 icons instead of just entering identyfing text on the Stream Deck buttons. I'm on a Mac and have looked around in the usual places (~/Library/Autodesk... ), but I can't find the F360 icons anywhere.

Does anyone have an idea of where they might be located? Even better if someone has implemented a Stream Deck icon pack of course, but having a location where the icons are stored would be great.

Thanks in advance for any help.

You will find the path to Fusion 360 application icons in this Forum post.  Remember, that the long nasty number changes per Fusion 360 update so look at the right folder.  As of this date, the correct one in Windows operating system is:

C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Autodesk\webdeploy\production\22e664d43fce268ac9bf1fa1cda69e4a9585c997\Fusion\UI\FusionUI\Resources

Yep, I've already seen that post. Unfortunately it's not correct as the files do not exist as noted in the post. There are two folders in the 'production' folder, both of which contain a 'Resources' folder. One resource folder is empty, while the other one does not have the embedded folders listed in that post. It does have a 'Config' folder, but that only contains some xml and. config files; no icon files at all.

Something must have changed in the 4 years since that post (not surprising), because that folder hierarchy does not exist, nor are there any files resembling icons in the webdeploy/production folders. The post may still be correct for Windows, but it is not for a Mac. Hence my question.

I too am trying to find the icons for the same purpose. The link given above does not contain the icons.

You will find the images at this location in the Windows Environment.

C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Autodesk\webdeploy\production\dbacedcc6dabacdc41406088a765962c5f1923ad\Fusion\UI\FusionUI\Resources\

The long path entry changes every time Fusion 360 updates.  This folder contains many other folders where you will find the icon images.  For example in the Assembly folder you will find a folder Align containing the related icons.

I do not have access to a MAC so I cannot help you with the path.

Hi, I can assure you that inside that folder there  are no icons. There is a ‘package’ that when opened reveals folders that also do not contain icons. Are they hidden or something?

thanks

They may not be file with an Icon extension but the are the files representing the UI interface in the application.  The folders are by default hidden in Windows environment.  As you can see in my post, the files are there.

It would be nice if someone from Fusion support AND who knows where things are on a Mac responded to the original post. It's good that the icons can be located on a Windows system, but although most of the Windows directory tree posted above is similar on a Mac, it deviates considerably at the lower levels.

Any Fusion support folks on this forum who might know the answer to the original post?

I found my Mac icons by:

1) Launch whichever Fusion you want icons for

2) Right click Fusion in the Dock -> Options -> Show in Finder

3) Right click on the AutoDesk Fusion 360 app and Show Package Contents

4) Navigate to Contents -> Resources

You'll find heaps of .icns files

Thanks for the detailed suggestion. I've tried that in the past, and although there are icons there, none of them are related to any design tools. They're all a stylized "F", with capital letters such as IGES, IGS, SAT, SMT, etc. What I'm looking for are some of the design tool icons that are found in the tool bar. Things like the icons under the Create dropdown, which include icons for Extrude, Revolve, Sweep, etc.

Pretty easy to create a StreamDeck hierarchy the for top level (Solid, Surface, Sheet metal, etc), with sub categories under each top level (New Component, Extrude, Revolve, etc). What I would like to do is to have the F360 icons for each one (e.g., Solid->Create->Hole) instead of the default StreamDeck icons.c

Just eye candy, I admit, but it's surprising how helpful it is to have familiar icons associated a specific action. I know that the icons are somewhere in the F360 program tree (program app, application support folder, etc),  but I just can't find them. They're very well hidden!

Ah. Did you look at all the pngs strewn about? For example:

<path to your Fusion App as described above>/Contents/Libraries/Applications/Fusion/Fusion/UI/FusionUI/Resources/solid/extrude

contains

64x64.png

Similarly .../Resources/solid/hole has icons for hole, etc.

There are hundreds of pngs in there for various parts of the app. If you can't find the exact thing, maybe something close lurks around in there.

Aha! My mistake was not opening the package contents in the Fusion app that was halfway down the chain (and why so many copies of the app??). Anyway, thanks very much for the detailed path; that works perfectly! Looks like a ton of tool icons are in there, so now it just a small(!) matter of copying them and creating the StreamDeck icons and buttons.

Thanks again!!

Hi Bentwookie,

I must be missing something, admittedly I’m not a whiz with computers… I can navigate myself to C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Autodesk\webdeploy\production\dbacedcc6dabacdc41406088a765962c5f1923ad…..BUT… at this point the folders end, and I can’t find the rest….——> \Fusion\UI\FusionUI\Resources\

is there a way to jump to that folder? I just get a strange looking icon; and when I open package contents; those folders are not in there.

Thanks

Hmmm. You could bring up PowerShell and:

cd ~\AppData\Local\Autodesk\webdeploy\production\dbacedcc6dabacdc41406088a765962c5f1923ad\Fusion\UI\FusionUI\Resources\solid
then do an
ii .

That last bit will open the directory in File Explorer (on Windows)

The attached zip file has 4,656 Fusion 360 png and svg icons. They are in a single directory with the original path structure prefixed to the file names.
