Local Rendering - Never Completes

I am testing out F360 as an alternative to Solidworks. (Version 2.0.3803)

I have not managed to get any model to complete a local rendering - in-canvas rendering works OK.

Even if I try a simple cube with no additional appearances or environments I get the same issue, including low res, low quality renders.

The render starts, in Task Manager the process goes to 90%+ for a few seconds, when the progress bar on the icon in the Render Gallery turns green the process goes back to around 0%.

If I mouse over the render icon it just always states the remaining time is "a few seconds".

If I click it a dialogue opens and just says the specified rendering could not be found.

There is no way to cancel the rendering.

If I quickly click the render icon in the Render Gallery while the progress bar is still white the dialogue opens and just permanently states the render is in progress - If I click to stop rendering, and again to confirm, nothing more happens. The dialogue stays open with a progress spinner on the button. I can close the window. If I then click on the icon with the progress bar, now green, I get the dialogue with the specified rendering could not be found.

The machine this is running on is not that highly specd. Below is a screenshot of the graphics diagnostics.

Is there something I can do to solve this. I have no issues rendering on this machine in Solidworks and the in-canvas render seems fine.

I have seen a few other related posts - but none of them seem to come to any conclusion about the issue unless it was a specific to a model.

Thanks.

Hi Julesgilson,

Could you please provide the screenshot for this issue? Are you using windows or Mac? If you are using windows, could you give me the screenshot of Task Manager when the local rendering is running? I am looking for a process called "Autodesk Local Render".

thanks

Hello, I'm having the same problem, were never starts rendering (some projects only) does not render local or cloud, I can only render in real time and have to do a capture. Could it be because the project is maybe to big ??.

Thank you.

Not big projects in my case. Even with only a small cube I get the same issue and it has never rendered anything (apart from in-canvas) - I also haven't tried cloud rendering as, like I said, I am only trying to see if it might replace SW in my workflow.

In fact, as soon as I enter the render workspace I get an error at the bottom, shown below. This is before I have even started a render or done anything.

Apologize for inconvience. It is a known issue and the fix will be patched in next Fusion update release.

Thanks for sharing the screenshots. We need do more further investigation. Looks like the communication between backend render and UI is broken somehow. It will take some time to investigate this problem. Come back to you when we get the cause.

I am confused.

Is it a known issue that will be fixed in the next update or is it something you need to investigate?

Hi,

Is there still no solution on this topic? I have the same problem. The topic started in 2018.

I got version 2.0.10564 and it is stuck at 95-99% and allready a day on "a few seconds".

Regards,

Marc
