Local renderer is very slow

When rendering with the local render just to attach appearance of face for example it seems to me very slow. Speed here is hardware related which i know, but this machine has slightly more power than average work stations. For this reason i attached the diagnostics log for your review. Maybe its possible to improve the renderer?

Thank you,

Daniel

Hi @daniel.rindt,

Welcome to the Fusion 360 Community!

From the logs - nothing seems too out of the ordinary. I checked the time stamps and the GPU pressure and it seems that everything should be running okay. I guess my question is - when you are applying the appearances, is it to a very complex face? For instance, does there seem to be slowness if you were just adding a face to a cube for instance. Also, do you have In-Canvas rendering (ray tracing) stopped when you are applying faces? I note that this could significantly slow things down as your computer is trying to render the image as you are applying the appearances.

Thanks,

Hi @daniel.rindt,

Forgive me if I am missing something, but everything seems to be working as expected. You have ray tracing enabled so everytime something is changed (i.e. your orientation of the model, appearance, etc) it needs to re render the image (all the black dots get more blurry and then come back into focus). If you are trying to make live changes, I would suggest pausing the ray tracing in the bottom right hand corner, then make the change, and then enable the ray tracing again. With ray tracing on, it is going to be noticeably more slow. Let me know if I am missing something however - I may just need another cup of joe!

Thanks,
