Leader Note Causing Drawing Environment to Crash

Leader Note Causing Drawing Environment to Crash

Howdy all,

Stumbled across this bug today with the Leader Note Tool. Seems to only affect edges that are not easily auto detectable. I have attached a screencast and the relevant file to poke around in. It's unclear to me at the moment if it's just this file or also happening in others. Running Fusion 360 Build 2.0.10032.

Thanks!

There seem to be some serious stability issues with April Update. Up till now, I've been working with F360, almost daily, for over half year with zero crashes, which was brilliat for me. Since last updates F360 became unstable.

Only today i had 4 random crashes that needed to kill F360 via task manager.

Thanks for the report and model data. It reproduces for me and I can log a ticket for the dev team.

I don't know if you saw the CER dialog (crash error report) but I didn't find any for your email address. If you do see these report dialog boxes, please send in every one. Automatic systems tell me when crashes are coming in, based on that dialog/send report action.

Thanks @Phil.E , happy to hear you can see it on your end too.

This crash behaviour matches up with my previous experiences of crashing in the drawing environment, there is no crash report to send or drawing recovery to open. The window and any unsaved data disappear just as it does in my screencast as if you closed out the window.

If there's anything else I can do to assist, please let me know.

Thanks!

Hi all,

Ran into this bug again. Is there a possibility of this being addressed in a future update?

Thanks!

Yes there is. I let the team know you are still facing the crash.

Ran across this new error message today.

I submitted my crash report so hopefully it is useful figuring out the problem. The downside, no recovery file was created for me.

Thanks. The drawings team is looking at the crash right now. They have not provided any information that indicates they know the root cause or have a plan to fix it. It's safe to assume they would like to fix it because they are looking at it, but I don't have any more information to share about it. Thanks again for sending the crash reports, those are essential for finding and fixing these things.

The recent image looks like a different design than the previous design. Is it possible for you to share it as well?

Just a follow-up, the drawings development team have identified the root cause of this issue, they are currently working on a fix

@Phil.E you are correct, this is a different file. I will DM you a link to the file as it's too big to upload here.

@ClintBrown3D that's awesome news!

Thanks for the file. I could repeat the crash and it went to the same bucket as the others. This will help confirm the fix once it's ready.
