Keyboard Shortcuts for Move, Pivot and Zoom?

Anonymous
Not applicable

I have searched for this repeatedly with no luck. Can anyone tell me if this is possible?

I understand these features use the mouse wheel, but my laptop doesn't have one. I'd like to press a key to activate zoom or pivot, use the trackpad, and press the key again to deactivate it.

Or, is there a different way to activate the pivot function without clicking on the icon or using the mouse wheel?

Thanks in advance!!

I cannot offer you want you exactly want but I can give you something that does not use a middle button.  If you set your Preferences for Pan, Zoom and Orbit to Inventor, then you can hold down the F4 key for Orbit, F3 for Zoom and F2 for Pan.  You however must hold these keys down plus the left click button on your touchpad and then move over the touchpad with your finger.  It is a lot to handle even with two hands but it does get you past the middle mouse button problem.

Thanks for the reply, John.

When I turned on the Inventor preferences, the F keys are intermittent.  They work for an instant, then nothing. Also, my mouse stops working as long as I have the F key pressed: F2, F3, and F4. These keys work fine outside of Fusion.

I discovered two partial workarounds. In the preferences for the Synaptics track pad, I can set the middle trackpad button to act like the middle mouse button. That works fine. I also noticed that the two finger trackpad shortcut that zooms web pages also zooms in Fusion. That works without a problem, as well.

Cheers,

Tom
