Joints stop working when I create sub-assembly

I have just learned joints, and created an assembly that moves as I would like.  Now I want to create 8 of them in a row.  But when I select all the components, and create an array, the joints do not get copied along with the components.  Fusion does not allow me to select the joints for copying.

So I thought to make a sub-assembly.  I select all the components and move them into the sub-assembly component, but the joints all break.

I look in the tree, and the joints all appear to have been moved with their components, but they no longer work.  The components move freely.

How do I get them working again?

The attached file will not open.  This file contains External References so it must be exported as a F3Z file.  Please try again.

I am sending back an F3Z file so be careful where you upload it.  You do not want to overwrite your existing assembly since you do now know what I did.  Create a new folder and upload the F3Z file to it.  In the Screencast I did not take the time to Ground all the required components but I did in the exported file.  As I mentioned in the Screencast, if you eliminate the Grounded components, in the top level assembly, I do not believe you would have to ground these components in the pattern.  I will take the time to try it and post the file in a few minutes.

I am attaching another F3Z file of an assembly where you only have to Ground the Motor Anchor in the pattern, the axle has a joint in the top level assembly to retain it's position.  You always have to have on grounded component in the patterned assemblies.

Thanks for all the help!!

It makes sense to just import this into a new project....

ButI actually only want one motor mount and one axle for all 8 assemblies.  They go along the axis of the axle....

If I create the sub-assembly file without those two items, then I would lose the joint, correct?  So I would have to create all 16 joints again, for the motor mount and the axle?  Or would that even work?  But I would only need to ground the two objects.

Seems like there should be a more elegant way to do this, but making 16 joints is not a huge deal....
