Joint command acting strangely

Gang, in the video I'm showing a pretty simple joint, selecting the part to join first then the location to have it join to second. The icon/packman on both pieces are properly aligned. I tweak the part a little, say OK and it just "flops" over into an undesired position. Then you'll see I do it again testing the joint with motion controls, first rotational, then slider, getting the outcomes I expect. Going back to ridged and clicking OK, it again just flops over in the wrong orientation.

Hi, I do alot of these vintage ski bindings. You can see my other work on my YouTube channel "HRG3Design". I'm not a beginner at this 3D software and Fusion puts up some strange things. Data point the Lange ski boot sole model was originally done in Inventor, but I no longer have access to my old license. So is the fact that the boot is legacy Inventor the issue?

Since your video dis not make it to your forum post but now we have your model we need to know which components you are trying to add a Joint to.  Be specific, the components have a lot of common name components.  Also specify what type of joint you really want, you mention quite a few.

I cannot explain why the joint origin is flipping after you select OK, but it could be the fact that the model was imported from Inventor.  In the Screencast I give you a workaround this issue.

@rick.glesner - that looks like a bug.  We'll investigate.  Until it gets fixed, please use the workaround suggested by @jhackney1972 .

[edit]  The Fusion bug for this is FUS-76744
