Issue with Primary/Secondary Monitor & Dropdown Boxes (UI issue)

Issue with Primary/Secondary Monitor & Dropdown Boxes (UI issue)

I use two monitors, fusion on the primary monitor and then on the edge of the secondary monitor I put fusion's pop up boxes, the simulate box, edit box, sketch box etc.

After the latest update (2.0.5658) any box on the secondary monitor wont display any dropdown box correctly.

If I switch the primary monitor in windows to the other monitor then the drop down boxes in fusion don't work either.

Any ideas on fixes other than dragging any box to the main monitor when I need to use a dropdown box?

This didn't work at all for me. I can't even get to my file menu so I can export my creation for 3D printing. Is there a keyboard shortcut for exporting?

Are you saying the dropdowns vanish all together? This thread was about the tooltips not staying active when hovering.

That is EXACTLY what I'm saying; however, as quickly as it stopped working, somehow it started working again. It's the weirdest thing. Started the program this morning, everything would vanish. Restarted program, same thing. Did a system reboot and restarted program...still the same thing. Went and did some other stuff, came back and magically, it started working again.

...and now the next day, they're not working again. They just vanish when I click on them. For instance, on the file button, I click on that and the menu flashes up for a millisecond, then a box pops up in the middle of the screen that says "New Design".

Is it somehow related to this?

@Anonymous & @Anonymous ,

I merged the posts from the previous thread here as they are the same issue (i think)

Please tell me what operating systems you both are using so i can confirm if this issue exists for me.

@Anonymous  are you on a multi monitor setup?

if so try moving the open fusion application to the monitor that windows has as the primary monitor, that should let you open the menu but it doesn't solve the underlying bug that is the issue

You nailed it. I moved Fusion to my primary monitor and it works fine. Kinda weird that it was working fine on my secondary monitor for a time though. Things that make you go hmmm...

Thanks for clearing up this issue! Much appreciated!

@Anonymous  It's only been since this last update that dropdowns haven't worked on secondary monitors

Hey all,

Are you still seeing this issue? I'm not able to reproduce it yet (I did just install the hotfix as well)

No luck, just installed the hotfix (2.0.5677) and it gives the same results, primary monitor is fine for dropdown boxes but on the secondary monitor it has the same bug.

I'll test it and see what i can do. So far nobody in support i've chatted with can reproduce it yet.

The bug is still happening even though I've restarted fusion multiple times, using both the DirectX 9 & 11 graphics driver settings in the preferences menu, interesting thing I've found is that the preferences menu drop down options work on both monitors, but not the rest of them that I've tried so far.

That is interesting. So far i've been unable to reproduce it. Friday I upgraded my Windows 10 machine and need to test it on there again.

I finally reproduced this and we've logged it with the team and we are compiling data to look into it. My behaviors were sightly different than yours but well within the same realm of issues.
