Issue running static stress simulation when using external components - contact not working as intended

I have found an issue when running a static stress simulation. I had a simulation set up using separation contacts. However, during the simulation this contact was behaving as if it was bonded. I spent a long time changing things and tyring to find a solution but I could not find anything. Then, when I carried out a section analysis, I saw that the 2 components I wished to use a separation contact between were hatched in the same direction and in the same colour. Both of these components were externally linked components. When I broke the link for one of these components, the contact then worked as intended, with motion between the 2 parts. Could this bug be looked into and fixed?

Hi @msdbartram,

I'm not able to reproduce this yet. I'll be happy to take a look if you can share the distributed design with us.

  • File pull-down > Export... > export the f3z to local disk, then attach it in a reply
