Is the free Fusion 360 for personal use different from the paid? Having problems that might be deliberate downgrades

Hello, I'm new to Fusion 360 and to CAD/CAM and have started using Fusion 360 as part of the Titans of CNC CAD/CAM online course.

In this course, I see videos of them using their paid software, and what their screen shows doing the exact same things, creating the exact same part with the same keystrokes and mouse actions, is quite different than what I see with Fusion 360 on my screen.

One example, as they create a part, the extension lines, as with any good blueprint, are finer than the lines making up the part. They don't jumble in with the part.

When I do the exact same thing as they do, it's all a nightmare jumble, almost impossible to decipher, everything looking like part, even after trying to move them to the best possible location.

Also, when they want to put in dimensions after rough sketching a part, the "D" function snaps right to the lines already created. When I do the same, that doesn't happen. And also, my software will often crash when I do so.

My program isn't unusable but it certainly does not operate like theirs.

Is this from the free version being downgraded to allow learning but still provide reason to purchase the program? Or is it that Fusion 360 runs and appears differently on different computers, even if Autodesk says that the computer's hardware is sufficient?

I couldn't get an answer from Autodesk support, as there is no support for free versions, even though it was an inquiry as to whether getting the paid version might solve my problems.

Thank you!

Here is a link to some of the differences and limitations between the Subscription and Personal versions of Fusion 360.  All of the things you mention are not a result of the different license types, they are caused by the Preferences and Document Settings within the application.  Most of the one you mention are changes you can make in the Document settings within the 2D Drawing environment.

If you are just starting out learning Fusion 360, you are using the wrong resources.  I suggest you go to Help in Fusion 360 and explore the self-based learning.

Thank you very much, John.

Your reply as well as answering my queston as to whether the versions are different (yes) let me know that my current problems aren't from that, how to solve that, and where I should go for the information I need. That is about the ultimate answer possible.

Very much appreciated, and have a great holiday weekend!
