Why can I Extrude Sketch3 as a solid, but not as a surface body?

(Actually, I wanted to do the Trim as on operation, but you get the idea...)

I had originally create the four corners as 3Point Rectangles and changed one line of each rectangle to Construction.

When I couldn't select loop (in one selection), I deleted the construction lines.   Still no go...

No Loop in One PickNo Loop in One Pick

Edit: A bit more experimentation I can select in multiple selections, but why not one loop selection?

Also, the surface to trim selection did not always turn red, but did work?

Edge chaining for Surface creation stops when there is no coincident constraint between points.  This behavior has always been the same.  In sketch3, there are several places where there are duplicate points between adjacent lines:

but other places where the points have been merged:

Are you aware that you can create surfaces by selecting a profile?

As to why the points don't get merged, this is how 3 point rectangle works.  The only time in any Fusion sketch commands that points get merged is when you explicitly pick them.  In 3 point rectangle, you only pick (as the name implies) 3 points.  The other point is determined from those 3, and that point is not merged.

And this is what is causing the points to not be merged in your case.

A request:  In the future, please try to use more descriptive and less inflammatory titles for your post.  Thank you.
