Is simulation actually multithreaded?

I'm trying this again because it seems as if nobody has either asked this question or had it answered including my own attempts to do so. Does anyone know what exactly is implied when autodesk says that simulation/FEA is multi-threaded? Is it multiple threads on every core, on every CPU, on one core, on one CPU, etc. Maybe it's not actually multi-threaded at all. Any insight would be incredibly appreciated!!

I started writing up a reply to the other thread but got busy elsewhere. The answer doesn't apply specifically to just FEA/Sim. Essentially some processes in Fusion are multi-core enabled. I would hesitate to specify multi-threading considering most CAD isn't 'thread safe' (parallelization is a good word too) and threading is handled by the OS. This is admittedly reductionistic and much has changed the last few years.

 

However, in short, I know rendering and Simulation will use multiple cores and simulation preferences can be changed to limit the number of cores used. It mostly depends on what is being done and if those operations can be spread across multiple cores.
