@mlangN8XKB I assume you have manufacturing tool paths in your design. If so can you open a black document, go into the manufacturing workspace and select 2D contour ? Does it crash? If it does not can you see which operation does?

This sounds like the issue discussed in this thread - https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-360-support/fusion-360-v2-0-12157-crashes-when-opening-files-s...

If you can find which operation is crashing and if you can attach the NGlobalOptions.xml -C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\Neutron Platform\Options\Your ID\

We should be able to correct it and get you going. We Arte actively working to find root cause and fix the root of the problem.

OK, so it would seem only models with tool paths are crashing. 2d adaptive crashes on a blank

@mlangN8XKB From the file location I sent you above, there is an entry for 2D adaptive in the xml that needs to be deleted. Once you make this edit and login to Fusion again, this should be addressed. If you are not comfortable making this change, if you attach the file I can do the same and pass it on to you.

As mentioned, we are looking at the root cause of this as priority to understand what is happening.

@mlangN8XKB The file that you sent me is likely from the wrong location. Regarding the 2 folders, I assume you log into this machine with 2 different accounts? Do you know which of these accounts is having this issue? based on the account you will need to get into its respective folder and send in the xml file (or modify that file).

this is the closest thing i can find

adaptive2d UserName="adaptive2d" Value="<Parameters><Parameter expression="tool_feedPerTooth * tool_numberOfFlutes" name="tool_feedCutting"/><Parameter expression="26.4834in/min" name="tool_feedEntry"/><Parameter expression="280in/min" name="noEngagementFeedrate"/><Parameter expression=".002in" name="tolerance"/></Parameters>"

So deleting the above worked but I'm getting these tool paths showing on a blank document that come from the model that was crashing...

And they never go away on the model that was crashing

@mlangN8XKB Here is the steps that are required:

  1. Open Fusion/(Sign in if needed)
  2. Go to C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\Neutron Platform\Options\USER ID
  3. Replace the NGlobalOptions.xml
  4. Close Fusion on the machine
  5. Launch Fusion
  6. Now this should work correctly on subsequent logins as well

  7. This essentially sets to 2d adaptive parameter to system defaults. You have to set it up again for this operation to set up user parameters again.

C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\Neutron Platform\Options\USER ID

as shown in the screenshot \USER ID isn't there. It's two additional folders.

2dadaptive doesn't exist, either all I found was what I posted above. I took a stab at deleting that and it seems to have worked as far as the crashing goes but now i get the tool path shadows shown above on both the file that had previously crashed as well as a blank file.

how do i fix that??

@mlangN8XKB @Can you please post the xml from “2EA….” Folder. This is the one that has todays time stamp per your image.

deleting the above in the newer time stamped folder seems to have resolved the issue.
