Insert Derive without "Design History" not available

Hello,

99.9% of the time I design with "Design History" enabled and I have no problems using the Insert --> Insert Derive operation.

Unfortunately, I was designing a project following the excellent tutorial from Brad's tutorial "Fusion 360 Live - Organic Meshes in Fusion 360" but it requires to turn-off "Design History". For my project I wanted to insert some Components from another project using "Insert Derive", as I have done multiple times before, but this time was not available and I assume has to do with turning off "Design History". The only work-around I found is starting a new Design, with the default "Design History" enabled, and Insert Derive the Pipe Solid Body from the previous Design.

Is there any other way, without having to start a new Design and then Import to it the original Design the Pipe Body?

Cheers,

Nikos

you can always turn on history after the fact, using Capture Design History:

And, once that is on, Insert Derive should work for you.

(side note)  You probably did not need to work in Direct Modeling for that workflow anymore.  The restriction on converting meshes to BRep only in non-history designs has been addressed now.
