Importing Parametric Solidworks Files

Hey all,

I found this cool GrabCad file for a parametric extrusion screw (https://grabcad.com/library/injection-molding-extrusion-screw-parametric-variable-driven-1) made in Solidworks. I wanted to bring it into Fusion 360 and mess with the parameters, but as far as I can tell, Solidworks parameters do not translate into Fusion 360. Does anyone know a way to convert and import so that the Parameters work in Fusion 360? Or, a software that I can use to edit the parameters and import the desired parasolid into Fusion 360 for free? Obviously I could import it to Solidworks and do it, but I don't have a license.

Thanks!

@JimHeaney - what you are looking for has never been done in the CAD industry, to my knowledge.  The DNA of the various feature capabilities are just not a close enough match to ever guarantee a conversion of the parametric recipe from one system to another.  It might be possible for trivial designs, but for any real-world design, it is highly unlikely to ever be successful.  All it would take is a single feature to have different outcomes (Solidworks fillet vs Fusion fillet behaving slightly differently) to completely invalidate the design intent.

This is the holy grail of CAD translations, but I fear it will be a long time until we get there...

....to add to @jeff_strater response -  even within the parametric software companies - the parametric histories are not backwards compatible.  Example, SolidWorks 2019 will not read read the history of a SolidWorks 2020 file.  So if it can't be done, err, isn't done within a company's own product, imagine the difficulty of achieving this goal between competitors.
