Importing a File stops halfway

I have been through almost all the other forum posts concerning this issue, and have done everything that has resolved others but with no luck. I have a 186mg Step file I have been attempting to import (through the data panel upload) and have been met with a halfway progression bar regardless of what I try. I cant include a file since this forums max is 71mg, weird.

Thanks, Matt

Does it also fail if you just use Open so the local translator is used?

When I do that, the entire program freezes and stops responding

How long have you waited for? It might take a while with a file that big.

Edit. Also how long have you waited with the upload? The 50% is when the file has uploaded then it takes a while to be translated. I have seen a few posts about big files not converting though.

Ive left the computer open for it to finish well around 2 hours with no progress. I wish Fusion 360 would have a more detailed uploading system to at least show its doing something, rather than sitting at a half loaded bar that doesn't give me any information.

I get to the 50% in just around a minute, and all the other amount of time is then in the "translate"

Provide public link to the file.

How big is the file if you zip it?

Bump!

I forgot about this one.

Just bumping it back to the top so that I don't forget again when I get to the lab later today.

Just a heads up, I've been able to open the file in other random CAD/file programs that I downloaded simply to see if it would open (and they do so in a short period of time). Still unable to figure out why Fusion will not do the same.

Bump. Was able to fully import through the "Fusion Team" site but the file will still not open in Fusion 360. Has a progress bar at the bottom that stops around 1/6 of the way and still says "Preparing" for the last 2 hours. Anyone try to open the file I provided in the forum?
