I cannot figure out how to cut a sketch

I basically drew a very complicated sketch as one piece and i now need to split it into three pieces. Any help would be great. The zig zag lines are where it needs to separate. I tried moving the pieces but they are linked.

It is not a good idea to sketch such complex sketches, get our design to the modeled stage a quickly as possible and then use modeling commands to create the rest of your design.  In this can your sketches were already separated at the zig-zag line so if you extrude them into bodies or components, they are easy to move or rotate as desired.  I used bodies.  You can right click on the extrusion, in the timeline, and edit it to any thickness you desire. Take a look at the Screencast.  Model in attached.

Another question real quick... How do i now save the seperated bodies as a 2d DXF file to send over to my laser guy? If i save the sketch as a dxf it will save it how i drew it. @jhackney1972

There are two ways to do this, I will choose the drawing method.  Just follow the Screencast.  You will be creating one drawing and save three separate DXF outputs.  In the Screencast I mention to make sure you place your drawing views at a FULL SCALE or you be cutting the wrong size.  You may not have an application to check the DXF with so I did one for you to prove it works correctly.  The other method is the direction you were heading when you started your project.  Creating a DXF from a sketch which works very well but not with your complex sketches.

There are a few ways to manipulate the original sketch.

I use the DXFer Addin, from Github, select the face of each body, you set the output to Layers, and the sketch will arrive with each body as a separate layer in the Dxf file.  Nesting is then up to you.

In the preview area of Manufacturing you can get the nesting done before the Dxf output, with the Arrange Commands.

Might help....
