This post is the result of a similar post that I started in the Manufacturing forum. In that post, I thought that I was simply not understanding the way to display wireframe.

During the discussion I realized that if I started from scratch with a new file, I could easily display the wireframe. Further tests, revealed that the file itself had gotten into a state that would not display properly.

I am not able to tell you all the steps I took to put this file into this condition, but it seems to be stuck with no way out. Notice the missing lines.

it looks like an opacity has been set on both the root component, and the "200x300 Rectangular Block for X-Carve test" component.  It looks a bit like perhaps something went wrong with the auto-dimming during component activation, that is, if you don't remember setting an opacity manually - I think the same attribute is used.  Would be very interested in a set of steps to get back to that state from a new file, if you ever find such a thing
