I am super new to Fusion 360. I do simple cookie cutter drawings, and when I first started using the program to draw something, I didn’t have any issues. Now, for some reason, I keep getting the thing I’ve circled in red in my picture ( don’t know what to call it), and it messes up everything I’m trying to do and gets in my way of the drawing. How do I get rid of it? Something in preferences? Thanks

Not trying to be rude but there are 2 things that you circled which are you talking about. The square or the blue ball on a half circle?

Benjamin L Underwood I guess. But the whole thing shows up when I do any type of drawing (straight line, fit point spline), but previously didn’t show up at all.

Try sketching something simple. Select it and see if the "lightbulb" next to "origin" on upper left of browser is on. If it is, try clicking it "off". Unfortunately, I won't be home in front of my computer for anther week, but by then, I'm sure someone will have helped. I had the same problem with the origin following me around, and solved it by a setting in configurations.

Bambi McCormick it might have something to do with a update or a setting you have on. I can't get it to do that

I think it is a update glitch, I had it before when starting a new sketch only, select desired plane, gone. Now everytime I add a line circle or anything to a drawing it shows up, but then goes away once I click on the screen to start my line or whatever. Think Autodesk is sending out updates damn near daily and not following up on if the work or not. I never had any issues lately, but now constant ongoing lag everytime I click on the screen...

Mike Mussmann I have had lag issues as well and I'm doing this on a self built gaming computer so it really shouldn't be lagged out

Benjamin L Underwood I run it on a laptop and a desktop both have 16Gb ram. I only use it for simple 2D Design, Extrusion, and set up cut paths in Manufacture mode for my CNC Plasma cutter. Funny because I was paying $400 a year for a license for the last couple years (because they made me) then I was talking to a guy at tech support one day about a problem I was having and he was looking through my files and asked me why I was paying for a license he said I should be labeled as a hobbyist and should not have to pay for a license. He gave me a contact number and I called them and they knocked my license down to a hobbyist and it seems like ever since then I've been having issues with the software... Funny how things in this world work...

Mike Mussmann things have slowly been getting locked and slower and when I started with this software maybe 2 years ago I bragged about it to my father in law 😑

Mike Mussmann I primarily do 3d models for 3d printing and unless I'm trying to load a model or I'm loading a model from a different project I don't have any issues. But that may be from cloud loading

Benjamin L Underwood I have tried online and offline modes, doesn't make any difference... My other son lives out in Iowa City and is a commercial graphic designer. I should have him install it and see if it lags for him... LOL. His PC is insane. That would definitely tell us if it's the software... Which I already know it is....

Mike Mussmann if you do have him test it I'd love to know how bad it bogs down especially if he is a graphics designer I'm sure he has a beats of a machine. It would be a interesting experiment lol

Benjamin L Underwood yeah I'm going to try it on my younger son's computer at home probably Monday. see how that goes if it's the same results I'll send it out to him with a file of mine that I've been having problems with to see if he can do what I've been trying to do with that file. It will be very interesting. I honestly think they are deliberately bogging down the software get you to pay for it. I'm about ready to start using FreeCAD or something else... Fusion 360 is actually holding up my projects right now and putting me behind

Mike Mussmann my biggest problem (if they are bogging it down so you pay) I'm not paying for something that doesn't work when I use the free version. Lol

Benjamin L Underwood I started what I do with Fusion 360 so that is how I learned, love the software and the features and abilities, but the constant unnecessary updates for stuff I don't use or need, plus the lagging, makes me want to relearn on something else. Just hate to have to spend time doing it... Do you use anything else for what you do? Comparable to Fusion?
