I know that fusion wants to export NC code to Visual Studio, but I really like the features of HSM Editor.

Is there any way to get the HSM Editor installed WITHOUT Inventor or Solid Works in order to open files exported from Fusion to it?

The HSM Editor is not available as a stand-alone application as indicated in this passage below.

I have no idea if you can install an HSM product and get the benefit of the editor without a license, only an installation would prove that out.  You can assign any external editor you desire using the Fusion 360 Preferences.  I really like Notepad ++.  The link to it is here.

There is an internal clock in the HSMEdit (Cimco edit) tied to Inventor or HSMWorks install. After 30 days (or so), it will flag you to run Inventor. If lack of license prevents you from running Inventor, well.....I guess that's that.

I have the license for Inventor and HSM, but we moved to Fusion and I wasn't going to install Inventor on the computers any more.

Hopefully Autodesk decides to release the editor as a stand alone software, until then I guess I'll start looking for another G-Code editor with renumber feature.

I don't think HSM Edit is ever going to come to Fusion (famous last words) because it's not compatible with the Mac OS.

I too use it for the renumber, along with other toolpath editing options such as assigning tool and height/diameter offset changes and coordinate rotation/adjustments.
