HSM Edit will not load

About 6 months ago HSM Edit stopped working on this computer.  It will no longer load when posting a program with the check box checked, and if I try to open it manually I get "Please open Autodesk HSM to run Autodesk HSM Edit".

I have completely uninstalled and reinstalled Fusion since and it did not fix the problem.  Would be nice to get this working again.

Autodesk HSM Edit runs a check in the system every 20 days or so to determine that you have the proper software installed. Fusion is not what it checks, but rather, Autodesk HSM or Inventor CAM. Once either one of those are opened up, it sets the check to "valid". Do you have either of those installed on your PC?

No I do not. I had installed a demo of Inventor a long time ago.   Maybe that's how it got on the system.   How do I get the editor that comes with Fusion working again?

Go to Preferences > Manufacture and clear out this box:

That box was already clear.

Then you would need to set the search path to another editor of your choosing, such as Visual Studio Code, Notepad++ or plain old "Notepad"

Visual Studio Code originally installed with Fusion, but is no longer on this computer.  Reinstalling Fusion didn't restore it.   How do I get it back?
