How to permanently get rid of an imported image (canvas)?

Hello, I am trying to delete an image I used to trace a sketch, which I will now use to try and create a 3D model. I figured I could "Hide Canvases" but I want the images (canvases) to be permanently removed or just to delete one or two, instead of, let's say all five. Any tips?

Right cllck on its browser name,

select Delete from that menu

The sketch is not linked to the image.

You can therefore delete it as @davebYYPCU said.

but how? Can u show me the steps by detail bcz the one daved mentioned is confusing.

Open the file.

Open the Canvasses folder with down arrow.

Left click on the name of the canvass you want to delete, turns blue, 

Press Delete key on the keyboard.

When the file name is highlighted, you could click the right mouse button, a menu pops up, and Delete is in that menu, easier to use the keyboard.
