If you have a free version, then you can not open them.

I have the student version. Is that a free version?

You should be able to open the file with a student license. Go to File/open, open from computer. Fusion will convert the file and save it before it can be viewed.

@ie0005

Is the file a Creo (Pro/E) file or is it a CADKey file or is it from some other program?

Can you zip and Attach the file here for testing?
