How to make a soft transition beetwen complex shapes

Hello there, Im trying to make a transition from one complex shape to another, I tried several resources but its just not working. Im putting images to illustrate this. Any tips?

I would start this completely from scratch!

Hacking together two pieces of geometry that were created with rather questionable modeling techniques very rarely leads to success 😉
